Quarter-miler Patience George has said she would work hard to shame her detractors for saying she is finished athletically. George surprised herself when she clocked 51.06secs which represents her season’s best in 400m.
She noted in an interview that people who she refused to mention had said she won’t go far this season. “People who supposed to protect me are the ones wishing me bad luck, by the God’s grace, I will work hard to shame all of them.”
George also insisted that she would work hard to make the country proud. “I will be going to South Africa to compete in the Africa Athletics Championship and I hope to use the competition to lower my present season’s best, which I hope would put me in proper shape for the Rio Olympics. George’s coach, Gabriel Okon said the athlete is gradually coming to her best form and would possibly showcase her talent in Doban as she always does.
