Nigeria’s Super Eagles maintained their 100% winning record as they defeated Luxembourg 3-1 at the Stade Josy Barthel in an international friendly match on Tuesday.
Goals from Brown Ideye in the 36th minute and Kelechi Iheanacho in the 69th minute gave the team a comfortable lead before Vincent Thill reduced the scoreline for Luxembourg in the 90th minute.
However, while the host were still celebrating their goal, Odion Ighalo extended Nigeria’s advantage as he scored in the 91st minute to give interim manager, Salisu Yusuf his second victory.
Interestingly, Iheanacho who is gradually becoming a main stay on the Super Eagles starting squad has now netted two goals for the team; first against Mali last week Friday in France.
It is yet to be seen if the team’s victories will affect their ranking in the FIFA World rankings this month (June).
