Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile has disclosed that the current blend of players donning the Egyptian colors are technically intelligent.
Nigeria is set to host Egypt on March 25 in an AFCON qualifier match, before traveling four days later to face them again, March 29, in Cairo.
The Super Eagles are three-time African champions, but are second in the rankings with four points while the Pharaohs are top of the log with six points; of which only the sole winner of the group will qualify for Gabon.
However, Echiejile has pointed out that beating the Pharaohs won’t be a problem except for the fact that they have players that are technically sound.
“They are very technically intelligent. The Egyptian teams I have played against all seemed to have that individually,” Echiejile said.
“They have great players upfront, I’ve watched them a few times. Mohamed Salah’s form is amazing, his all-round game and his finishing. And the other players we all know. In Elneny they have a fantastic midfield player.”
“I can’t speak highly enough of them actually, Elneny has come on and really impressed at Arsenal in the few games he has played. It’s going to be a battle ground because they are very strong in there,” he concluded.
