Oshoala Set to Join Arsenal Ladies

Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, has been given the green light, after being granted a UK work permit, to join Arsenal FC Ladies.

Oshoala was due to join the London team from the Liverpool Ladies during the winter transfer window but the Gunners couldn’t activate a release clause in Oshoala’s contract, subject to her gaining a work permit for 2016.

The Nigerian international was named the BBC’s Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2015 for the first time and was part of the Falcons team that won the 2014 African Women’s Championship in Namibia.

Oshoala joined Liverpool ahead of the 2015 WSL campaign but injury blighted her time at the club and she only scored three goals in 12 league outings last season.
