No Permanent Shirt For Iwobi, Iheanacho – Amoo

Nigeria’s U-23 interim coach, Fatai Amoo has reiterated that Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi will fight for their shirt and won’t be given any special treatment.

The team’s camp was due to open February 29, but with the invited Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) players involved in weekend league matches, the coaches expected early arrivals for Monday.

Amoo stated that the invitation of foreign players will not undermine players from the NPFL, with European based youngsters like Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Imoh Ezekiel among the 30 named by Samson Siasia.

Amoo explained that the U-23 team may miss out on real quality if invitations are limited to just foreign based and Premier league players.
