The Lagos State government under the leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has confirmed the release of the 3 students kidnapped at the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The girls were abducted last week Monday on the school premises, causing serious tension among parents and authorities of the school.
The release of the three girls has brought a great sign of relief as they rejoin their families and friends.
During a press briefing in the state house, the governor was happy to have the kidnapped girls released from their abductors while also promising that his government will give no room for any of these dastardly acts in the state.
There was no answer on whether a certain amount was paid as ransom for the release of the three girls on Sunday.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, in a tweet on Sunday, via his Twitter handle, @stevoree said: “The three abducted school girls in Ikorodu have been rescued by the police. Lagos is working. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode salutes the courage of the police.”
