AFCON: Pharaohs Coach May Be Fired if He Loses Match Against Super Eagles

Ahead of the forthcoming 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier, Pharaohs head coach, Héctor Cúper has reiterated that the Super Eagles clash would test the strength of his team’s true ability.

Both teams will meet at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, March 25, knowing that a defeat could hamper their chances of qualifying for the bi-annual tournament in Gabon.

Cúper has been threatened by the Egyptian Football Association that he could face the exit door if the team lose to Nigeria.

According to him, he says the Pharaohs will do their best to get the right result against the Super Eagles regardless of the difficult task.

“We have almost reached the final line-up with the start of the Nigeria game,” Cúper said.

“We build our squad depending on the players’ performance in the recent games”.

“The Nigeria game is a test to determine our real abilities, and we will do our best during this game”.

“I understand the criticism after facing minor teams since we didn’t reach the high performance we all look for but we will when we play against Nigeria,” he concluded.
