The wife of retired air staff, Air Marshal, Adesola Nunayon Amosu has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, (EFCC) for being an accessory to crime, the money “made” by her husband was traced to her various bank accounts.
According to a source with the EFCC investigation team, N13 billion was traced to the account of Lara Amosu. Other assets acquired by Ms. Amosu were also discovered and originally belonged to her husband but appear to have been documented in her name to avoid traces of corruption.
After the arrest of Amosu and his wife, the EFCC took him to his residence for physical searching, which lead to the discovery of $1 million in cash. The cash was found in a newly constructed soakaway, hidden Pablo Escobar style in his home in Badagry.
Related to this development is the N1.5 billion traced to the account of Vice-Air Marshal J.B. Adigun. It was further reported that Marshal Adigun’s wife traveled out of the country two weeks ago, shortly after the arrest of her husband over the arms deal scandal.
Air Marshal Adesola Amosu and his wife are presently in the custody of EFCC as the efforts made by their lawyer to free them were not successful.
