On the move to make the English Premier League (EPL) title, Arsenal fans have described their victory over Manchester City yesterday as “making it through a tunnel” due to the their record with Man City.
History almost repeated itself as Man City scored a goal against Arsenal in the second half of the match. “This is how we usually draw our 3 point take-away matches against Man City” one of Gunners fans lamented at a football showing spot popularly know as Maracana Stadium in Ondo state, in the western part of Nigerian after a goal scored by Yaya Toure in 82 minutes of the match time.
The fan pointed out that their previous encounter ended in a 2-2 draw in what he described as “injury time” because the match almost ended 2-1 in favor of the Gunners.
Arsenal picked up its 3-points to place second on the EPL table yesterday at Emirate stadium by dominating the pitch with a goal scored by Theo Walcott at the 33rd minute, and the second goal which came from Olivier Giround in at exactly 45 minutes of the first half.
Pressure arose upon the Gunners due to the goal scored by Yaya Toure but the midfield was brilliantly controlled by Mesut Ozil who was named as man of the match.
