Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses was at his best mettle as Chelsea defeated “stubborn” Watford 2-1, at Watford’s home base, Vicarage Road Stadium in Saturday’s Premier League match.

Moses who was impressive in the Blues preseason campaign came on from the bench in the 72nd minute for Pedro Rodriguez, more fondly known as just Pedro, Moses added more bit in the attack, which eventually resulted in the team’s equalizing, thanks to Michy Batshuayi shot in the 80th minute.

Watford’s Odion Ighalo was on for the entire duration of the match and had quite a tough game, as the defensive duo of John Terry and Gary Cahill caged him. The Nigerian international had an impressive performance last season where he scored 15 goals for Watford in the EPL.

Before Batshuayi’s goal, the Hornets had gone ahead in the 55th minute through Etienne Capoue’s neat volley. This gave Watford some momentum as they went in search of the killer goal, however, it was Chelsea who got the goal instead, as Diego Costa beautifully slotted the ball past Watford goalkeeper, Heurelho Gomes.

The Blues could have extended their lead, but Batshuayi’s last shot kissed the edge of the net. The visiting team sealed their three points to move joint top of the English Premier League table with Manchester City, Manchester United, and Hull City.
