Nigerian Super Eagles midfielder, Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed that he’s willing to up his game under Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola as they prepare for their preseason campaign.

Iheanacho who has been touted to play an integral role under Guardiola regardless of who the club signs ahead of the new season, revealed that he’s relishing the opportunity of keying into Guardiola’s plan.

“Everyone knows Pep and what he can do. I think he is a great manager and I think he will bring many things to this team,” Iheanacho added.

“I can play number 9, 10, 7 and 11… I can play different positions. Anywhere I can fit in, I will play.”

“I am happy with what I did last season and now I have to work really hard this season to get something for the team and work for the team as well.”

Despite Iheanacho’s brilliant club game play last EPL season, the Super Eagles player is expected to miss next month’s Rio Olympic Games in Brazil. Nevertheless, the Citizens are poised to regain the trophy from last season’s Premier League winner, Leicester City, and Kelechi is up to the task.

In regards to not being called for Olympic play, Kelechi said, “it’s not up for me to decide, I don’t know if they have decided – my team and my country, I don’t know if they have concluded or not.”
