The U.S. failed to shine in their opening match of the ongoing Copa América Centenario as the team lost 2-0 to Colombia at the Levi Stadium in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Goals from Cristián Zapata in the 8th minute and James Rodríguez in the 42nd minute were all that the visiting team needed to silence the home crowd and pocket three points.

Prior to the encounter, the host have had a-not-too impressive set of warm-up matches and it was glaring in their performance against Colombia.

The defeat puts the Yanks in a difficult position to qualify from the group, considering the fact that the team will still play Paraguay and Costa Rica, respectively.
