Despite the Federal Government’s determination to deal with the militants involved in the attacks on pipeline in the Niger Delta region, a group suspected to be the Niger Delta Avengers has blown up an Escravos GTL pipeline, linking Warri to Lagos, on Friday.

Reports indicate that the attack damaged a substantial part of the pipeline, which ostensibly will affect the supply of gas to the western part of the country. The new militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, has claimed responsibility for many of the attacks ion oil pipelines in recent months.

It yet unknown if the group is behind this attack because details of the attack were still sketchy at the time of the publication of this report.
