Unknown gunmen suspected to be Niger Delta militants continued their renewed offensive attack on Tuesday as they killed three soldiers in Foropa, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The militants have been accused of being responsible for the drop in crude oil production in the country due to their attacks on pipelines.
Their recent attacks have forced production at a Chevron platform in Nigeria to be shut down pending when peace reigns.
The defense headquarters is yet to react to the recent killings. Reports suggest that the identity of the victims that were killed are yet to be known as of the time of publishing this report.
