Paying tribute to his late father Paul, who died in his sleep in the early hours on Monday, Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo was on from start to finish as Watford defeated Aston Villa 3-2 at the Vicarage Road Stadium, on Saturday. The defeat further confirms Villa’s relegation out of the English Premier League.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian international could not add to his 15 goal tally as all his effort to get on the score sheet proved abortive.
Goals from Almen Abdi and a double from Troy Deeney was enough to calm the nerves of their home supporters after Villa had gone ahead in the 28th minute through Ciaran Clark and Jordan Ayew.
It has also been confirmed that Watford will remain at the top flight of English football next season and will be hoping to better their performance.
