Nigeria’s U-23 team defeated their Brazilian U-23 counterpart 1-0 in an international friendly that was played on Friday morning at the Estádio Kléber Andrade (Kléber Andrade Stadium), in Cariacica, Espirito Santo.
The solitary goal was scored by Ubong Ekpai in the fourth minute as he calmly put the ball pass the Brazilian goalkeeper to put the Dream Team IV in a dream world.
Despite Brazil’s numerous chances, Nigeria’s U-23 goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel was at his best as he kept the host from scoring. Besides, it’s coach Fatai Amoo inaugural win over the South American, something which will go a long way to boost the confidence of the coaching crew and the players ahead of Rio Olympic Games.
This victory will be Nigeria’s first since their meeting at the Atlanta Olympic Games where the team defeated Brazil 4-3 on extra time.
