Germany Pledges Total Support to End Insurgency in Nigeria

As part of the benefits accompanying the relationship between nations who have a strong mutual understanding and agreement, Nigeria is set to receive aid from Germany in the battle against terrorism.

The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin hosted the German Deputy Defense Minister, Dr. Ralf Brauksiepe at the Defense Headquarters in Abuja for a crucial meeting to boost German-Nigerian bilateral military relations. The meeting led to the confirmation of Germany’s commitment in assisting Nigeria its counterinsurgency efforts to stop Boko Haram.

While speaking in Abuja, Dr. Brauksiepe said that Germany’s military will support Nigerian Armed Forces to every length so that they will able to achieve a total victory over the deadly Islamic group as soon as possible. He also expressed his excitement over the victories recorded by Nigerian soldiers, which he termed as a buoyant display of professionalism and competence.

Dr. Brauksiepe assured Nigeria that the German government will also promote other security measures such as controls over piracy. He further explained that both countries have more dreams to share together even in the area of trades and investment.

A welcome address by the CDS, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin revealed that the Nigerian Army has benefited so much from the German military over the years.
