Yaya Touré and Wilfried Bony Seek Champions League Quarter-Final Berth

The Ivory Coast duo of Yaya Touré and Wilfried Bony will be determined to lead Manchester City to their first ever quarter-final place as the team face Dynamo Kiev in the second leg of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League at Etihad Stadium on Tuesday.

Touré picked up a heel injury during the course of Manchester City’s Capital One Cup final win over Liverpool and missed the Premier League defeat against the same opponents three days later.

He returned to the team for the thrashing of Aston Villa only to aggravate the injury, ruling him out of last weekend’s goalless draw against Norwich City.

His return for Tuesday’s encounter against Dynamo Kiev would help lift the confidence of the team having won the first leg 3-1 a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, Wilfried Bony’s inconsistency on the team may be due to Sergio Agüero’s goal scoring form, however, the Ivorian star will be hoping to get a chance in today’s encounter against their Ukrainean counterpart.

Bony has failed to command a starting shirt since making his move from Swansea City last season, managing 10 goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.
