Super Eagles defender, John Obi Mikel failed to shine as Chelsea were held 1 – 1 by Stoke City at Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s Barclay’s Premier League clash.
But the 20-year-old Burkinabé, Bertrand Traoré showed his strength on the field in the 39th minute and put the Blues in the lead before Mame Biram Diouf leveled the score in the 85th minute through a diving header.
The Nigerian international who has started in virtually all of the games played by Chelsea since coach Guus Hiddink took over from former boss, Jose Mourinho,played all 90 minute but could not prevent Stoke City from scoring.
The draw means Chelsea have 40 points and could as well kiss the Champions League spot goodbye.
The Blues will shift focus to next week Wednesday’s do or die Champions League last 16 second leg clash against Paris Saint Germain at Stamford Bridge.
