Super Eagles and Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel has thrown his weight behind interim coach, Samson Siasia ahead of the forthcoming double-header against the Pharaohs of Egypt in a 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier according to a source close to the gaffer.

The former Lyn Oslo star played under Siasia at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands where he shone like a million stars in the tournament and won second Most Valuable Player behind Argentina’s Lionel Messi.

Having been named in the 42-man list that will tackle Egypt, March 25 and 29 respectively, Mikel revealed that he’s ready to give his best to the team.

“Mikel called Siasia and pledged his full support,” disclosed the source.
