Super Eagles midfielder, John Obi Mikel was on the score sheet as Chelsea lost 2 – 1 to Paris’ Saint Germain in the first leg round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday in Paris.
The Nigerian international put the Blues level in the 45th minute after PSG’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic had put the home team in front.
Mikel’s goal came as a sign of relief for Guss Hiddink considering the fact that it was his own goal that cost Chelsea the early panic before redeeming his reputation.
It was his first Champions League goal in this campaign and he will be hoping to add more goals in the return leg at Stamford Bridge.
However, Edinson Cavani came on from the bench to score PSG’s second goal in the 78th minute.
