Following the perfect stitches that breathe life into a designer’s sketch/idea, a good picture brings it all together. With the tremendous rise of self acclaimed photographers, the images sell you the difference between an enthusiast and the real deal.
This week’s Friday Fashion Appreciation is Lakin Ogunbanwo, who through his unique moods and learned eye for capturing texture and composition create images that are clean and provocative.
Photography for Lakin began as an interest he indulged in and later self-mastered, as his interest in the lens peaked so did his knowledge following an enrollment in the Spéos Photography Institute in Paris. His works have since been exhibited in galleries alongside solo exhibitions. In 2015, Lakin was recognized by the British journal of Photography as one of the Top Photographers to watch.
Having shot brand names in Nigerian fashion like Maki Oh and IAMISIGO, his work has been featured on international platforms like British GQ, Times New York and ID Online among others.
Lakin’s fashion images are trailblazers in editorial representation and his consistency is noteworthy.
