‘Empire’ Star Yazz the Greatest Speaks on Black Empowerment

1234Bryshere Y. Gray also known by the stage name Yazz the Greatest plays Hakeem in the series you love to watch – ‘Empire’.

In 2015, Gray began his first acting role as Hakeem Lyon on the Fox drama TV series, with co-stars Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, and Jussie Smollett. In March 2015, it was confirmed that both Smollett and Gray had been signed on with Columbia Records as solo acts.

Gray spoke to us about a challenging topic; gun violence in America. According to a Guardian report, young black men were nine times more likely than other Americans to be killed by police officers in 2015, according to the findings a final tally of 1,134 deaths at the hands of law enforcement officers occurred this past year.

We caught up with the actor and rapper at the 2016 Golden Globes, where he also gave us some highlights on his career and a possible visit to Nigeria.
