Two Nigerians Up for Golden Globes; Complete List of Nominees

The 2016 Golden Globe Awards is today, Sunday January 10, and will be presented live from the historic Beverly Hills Hotel.

The show begins at 5:00 Pacific Standard Time.

The contenders for this year’s awards include three Africans. Idris Elba made an impact as last year’s hottest African actor, Nigerian-American, Uzo Aduba and Nigerian-Brit David Oyelowo round out the list.  Aduba was nominated for her role as “Crazy Eyes” in the Netflix original series “Orange is the New Black” and Oyelowo was nominated for his critically acclaimed role in the HBO miniseries “Nightingale”. Elba was nominated for his role in the crime detective series “Luther” and his role humanizing a despot in the Netflix original film “Beasts of No Nation”.
